Tutorial 3 – Dayz Epoch Linux Server – Compose the Server – Commands (1.0.5.1)

Here are the commands used in the tutorial video (Compose the Server)
Assumption: Directory names are the same as in the Tutorial 2 video (Download Files to the Server).

Chapter 0:
Create the server directory:
mkdir epochserver

Chapter 1: Epoch server files
cd epoch_server_files
cd Dayz-Epoch-Linux-Server-master
cp -r * ../../epochserver
cd ..
cd ..

Chapter 2: Epoch client files
cd epoch_client_files
cp -r "@Dayz_Epoch" ../epochserver
cd ..

Chapter 3: Arma2 files
cd arma2
cp -r AddOns ../epochserver
cp -r Dta ../epochserver
cd ..

Chapter 4: Arma2OA files
cd arma2oa
cp -r Common ../epochserver
cp -r Expansion ../epochserver
cd ..

Chapter 5: Arma Linux server binary 1.63 (here 112555)
cd arma2oa_server
cp server ../epochserver
cd ..

Chapter 6: Expansion directory
cd epochserver
(Merge 2 existing Expansion/expansion folders…we only need one)
cd expansion
cp -r battleye ../Expansion
cd ..
rm -rf expansion/
cd Expansion
rm -rf BattlEye/
cd ..

Chapter 7: Change all directory/file names to lower-case
Compile tolower:
(If name is not gcc as in my system figure out what the name is. For me gcc-4.7)
gcc<press tab key 2 times>
gcc-4.7 -o tolower tolower.c
rm tolower.c
./tolower

Chapter 8: Server cleanup (optional step…just cosmetics)
Create a folder for sql database files and move sql files into it:
mkdir sql
mv *.sql sql

Delete unneeded files (find files with extension *.xyz and delete files found):
find . -type f -name "*.dll" | xargs rm
find . -type f -name "*.exe" | xargs rm
find . -type f -name "*.txt" ! -path "./expansion/battleye/*" | xargs rm (exclude battleye folder to keep filter txt files)
find . -type f -name "*.paa" | xargs rm
find . -type f -name "*.cpp" | xargs rm
rm epoch
rm install
rm readme.md
rm tolower.c

Chapter 9: Create mysql database
mysql -u root -p <press enter key>
Enter Password for mysql root user <press enter key>
mysql> create database epoch;
(Choose user/pass to your liking.)
mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON epoch.* TO 'epochuser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'epochpass';
mysql> use epoch;
mysql> source sql/database.sql;
mysql> source sql/v1042update.sql;
mysql> source sql/v1042a_update.sql;
mysql> source sql/v1051update.sql;
mysql> show tables;
mysql> quit;

Example here: User epochuser with pass epochpass (all privileges for database epoch).
